Last updated

Symptom

Your wireless system does not last as long as expected, will not charge, or will not turn on.

Applies To

NUX rechargeable wireless systems.

Quick Fix

Charge both units fully, then check against the expected battery life below. Battery life varies with use.

Model Battery life per full charge (owner's manual)
B-1 Lite 5 hours
B-2 Plus 7 hours
B-3RC about 3.5 hours
B-5RC about 4 hours
C-5RC about 4 hours
B-6 more than 4 hours
B-6 Pro transmitter about 7 hours; receiver about 11 hours
B-7 PSM more than 4 hours
B-7 Pro up to 6 hours
B-8 up to 6.5 hours
C-7, C-7x 5 hours
B-10 4 hours

Work Through These Steps

  1. Charge both units fully before use, using the method for your model below.
  2. Try a different cable and a different USB adapter that meets the rating below. Some units charge only from their included adapter.
  3. Note how long the units run on a full charge and compare it with the table above.
  4. If the system has been stored, charge it at least every 3 months. Lithium batteries can stop taking a charge if left flat.

How To Charge Each Model

Model How to charge
C-5RC, B-5RC Included micro-USB Y cable, or the charging case. The case needs a 5V / 1A (or higher) USB adapter and refills the units 2 to 3 times. About 2.5 hours to full. The units do not work while charging, and each case should only charge its own system.
B-8 Dock the transmitter on the powered receiver, or charge it by USB-C from a 5V / 500 mA (or higher) adapter.
B-1 Lite, B-2 Plus Included micro-USB Y cable.
B-3RC USB-C, or the charging case. The case needs a 5V adapter rated above 2A and takes about 4 hours; the units take about 2.5 hours in the case.
B-6 USB-C Y cable with a 5V / 1A (or higher) adapter, or the charging case. The units do not work while charging.
B-6 Pro Transmitter: dock it on the powered receiver, or USB-C at 5V / 500 mA. Receiver: only the included DC 9V 1.2A adapter. Its USB-C port does not charge it.
B-7 Pro Transmitter: only the included DC 9V 1.2A adapter; its USB-C port does not charge it. Receiver: dock on the transmitter, or USB-C at 5V / 0.5A.
B-7 PSM USB-C, or the charging case (5V adapter rated above 2A, about 4 hours for the case). The units charge in about 1.5 hours and can be used while charging.

C-7, C-7x and B-10 battery life is from the nux.us wireless FAQ; check the owner's manual for charging details.
