The NUX Cerberus is a compact multi-effects processor that combines analog drive circuits with high-quality digital effects. It’s designed to serve as a flexible all-in-one pedalboard or as the central hub in an existing setup. It’s built for guitarists who need reliable tone shaping and streamlined control in a single, portable unit—equally suited for stage, studio, or practice use.

Hybrid Architecture

Analog overdrive and distortion circuits combined with the clarity and flexibility of digital modulation, delay, and reverb effects.

All Analog Drive & Distortion

Transparent overdrive and British-style distortion each with adjustable gain and tone controls for fine-tuned character.

Wide Range Modulation Options

Offers tremolo, phaser, Uni-Vibe, and three distinct chorus types—analog, digital, and modern—for a wide range of textures.

60's, 70's, & 80's Delay Options

Includes tape, BBD, and digital delay options with tap-tempo functionality and delay times up to 1500 ms, ideal for both subtle repeats and ambient trails.

Deep Reverb Section

Features plate, hall, and spring reverbs with adjustable parameters to shape natural or spacious environments.

IR Loader & Cabinet Simulation

Built-in 4×12 cabinet model, user-loadable third-party IR files, stereo outputs, and headphone output with cab simulation.

Stage & Rig Ready

Built in a one-piece die-cast aluminium housing, with extensive I/Os — the Cerberus fits seamlessly into live rigs.

Simple, Intuitive Control

Stompbox-style switches with bright markers make it simple to adjust your sound and see your settings at a glance.

NUX Cerberus

Analog Soul, Digital Precision.

Cerberus combines the warmth and touch sensitivity of analog overdrive and distortion with the precision and versatility of digital effects. You get the best of both worlds: the organic feel of classic circuits alongside modern modulation, delay, and reverb — all in one compact unit.

True Analog Overdrive & Distortion

Every pick attack, finger nuance, and volume change is faithfully preserved, giving you the organic feel of classic analog tone. Cerberus features high-quality analog overdrive and distortion circuits that deliver a natural, dynamic response to your playing.

Analog Inspiration

Overdrive (Blues Breaker)

Inspired by 70’s Little Wing / Hendrix–style tones. It preserves your guitar’s natural tone without boosting mids or adding unwanted coloration unlike traditional “Tube Screamer–style” circuits. Designed to work seamlessly in any effect chain, it enhances your sound while keeping your tone clear and balanced.

Distortion (Brown Anger)

Cerberus Distortion delivers high-gain tones with a classic British character—rich bass, full mids, and balanced treble. It works seamlessly on its own or layered with the Overdrive channel, giving you the iconic JCM-style sound while preserving clarity and definition.

Performance-Oriented Controls

Divided into analog and digital sections, Cerberus is designed for intuitive operation, whether you’re building sounds from scratch or managing presets during a performance. Each section has dedicated controls for fast, hands-on tone shaping.

Digital Effects Section

Modulation: Adjust RateDepth, and Mix to shape chorus, tremolo, phaser, or Uni-Vibe effects.

Delay: Control TimeFeedback, and Level; use Tap Tempo for real-time timing adjustment.

Reverb: Fine-tune Decay and Mix for subtle space or ambient depth.

Analog Section

Overdrive & Distortion: Independent Gain, Tone, and Level knobs for precise control over saturation, EQ, and volume.

Designed for natural response and seamless interaction when used together or separately.

Performance Controls

Preset Management: Save and recall up to 128 presets (32 banks × 4 presets).

Boost Switch: Add up to +20 dB of clean boost instantly.

Tuner: Built-in chromatic tuner for quick onstage tuning.

Cab Sim & IR: Toggle cabinet simulation and manage impulse responses directly.

Expression / MIDI: Assign external expression pedal or MIDI controller for dynamic control over parameters and presets.

Extensive Hardware Connectivity

Cerberus adapts easily to any setup. Use it as a standalone pedalboard, connect it to your amp with the 4-cable method, or go direct to a PA or audio interface using the built-in cabinet simulation. Stereo outputs let you run wide, spacious effects, and the headphone output makes quiet practice easy. With MIDI and USB support, Cerberus fits naturally into both traditional rigs and modern recording environments.

Experimenting & Sound Design

Unlock the Full Potential of Your Rig

Use the Cerberus Editor for Mac/Windows to tailor your rig exactly how you want. Load your own cabinet IRs, assign footswitches & expression pedal controls, export preset banks, and stay current with firmware updates. All this lets you build a custom rig from your computer — then step on stage and play.

Cerberus Editor Feature

Studio Sound Design & Fine-Tuning

Access advanced parameters that would be slower to adjust on the hardware. You can tweak drive saturation, modulation depth, delay timing, and reverb settings with precision.

IR Loader Management

Drag and drop third-party IR files, audition them in real time, and assign them to specific presets.

Custom Performance Control

The editor allows you to fully assign footswitches and expression pedals, giving you hands-on control exactly how you need it during live performance.

Experimentation & Workflow Efficiency

You can audition effect chains, tweak multiple parameters simultaneously, and instantly compare variations. This encourages creativity and speeds up the process of dialing in your ideal sound.
