Create Your Ideal Signal Chain
The Amp Academy Stomp gives you nine flexible effect blocks — including noise gate, compressor, modulation, amp, EQ, send/return, cab IR, delay, and reverb — that can be arranged in a wide variety of combinations. Your signal path will always end with IR, delay, and reverb blocks; the delay and reverb can be rearranged.

For even more flexibility, you can run delay and reverb in Serial Mode to feed your echoes in cavernous spaces or in Parallel Mode to keep the effects separate for cleaner ambient patches.
What it means...
To create signal chain
This means you can fully customize the order of your effects — just like rearranging pedals on a pedalboard.
You’re not stuck with a fixed order (like compressor → amp → reverb).
You can drag and drop the effect blocks in any sequence to create your perfect signal flow.
To have nine flexible effects blocks
These are the available effect modules (or “blocks”) inside the pedal:
- NG = Noise Gate (cuts unwanted hum or hiss)
- CMP = Compressor (balances your volume and adds sustain)
- EFX = Modulation effects (chorus, phaser, etc.)
- AMP = Amp model (your main tone/drive character)
- EQ = Equalizer (fine-tune bass, mids, treble)
- S/R = Send/Return loop (for connecting external pedals or amps)
- IR = Cabinet simulation (controls how your “amp” is miked and sounds in the room)
- DLY = Delay
- RVB = Reverb
You can turn each one on/off, edit it, and place them wherever you want in the chain.
To run delay and reverb in Parallel or Serial mode
For even more flexibility, you can run delay and reverb in Serial Mode to feed your echoes in cavernous spaces or in Parallel Mode to keep the effects separate for cleaner ambient patches.
Serial Mode:
The delay runs into the reverb (or vice versa) — so the first block feeds into the second block.
→ Sounds more traditional, ambient, and “wet.”
Parallel Mode:
The delay and reverb run side by side, then blend together.
→ Keeps your tone clearer and more defined, great for high-gain or studio-style sounds.
30-Second Stereo Looper — Play, Layer, Control Remotely
Capture and loop up to 30 seconds of stereo audio with the Amp Academy Stomp. Record manually or use Auto Record for effortless live looping, and choose Pre or Post placement in your signal chain to control whether your loop captures raw or processed tone.
With the optional NBT-1 Bluetooth Module and companion iOS/Android app, you can adjust effects and tone remotely, even while the loop plays — perfect for creative layering and seamless live performance.
