How To Update Your NUX Firmware

Last updated

Applies To

NUX products that take firmware updates through the QuickTone editor or the NUX Device Updater.

What You Need

  • The firmware file and the matching QuickTone version for your product and operating system, from your product's Support Hub, which links the official NUX downloads.
  • The USB cable that came with the product, and its power adapter.
  • About 30 minutes, uninterrupted.

Steps

  1. Back up your presets. Updating firmware resets user settings.
  2. Check the version. Some firmware only works with a matching QuickTone version, and some products have separate firmware for different language versions. Using the wrong file can damage the product.
  3. Download and unzip the firmware and QuickTone files for your operating system.
  4. Connect the product to your computer with the USB cable and plug in its power adapter.
  5. Put the product into update mode as described on its product page, then start the update.
  6. Do not unplug the USB cable or the power supply until the update finishes.

Check It Worked

The product restarts normally. The first start after an update can take longer. Then restore your presets. Some older presets may not be compatible.
